Gatorade turns the “El Cruce” medal into a daily motivation

“El Cruce” is a trail running race in the Argentine Patagonia that challenges runners to complete 100 kilometers (62 miles) over three days, crossing mountains, lakes, forests, gravel roads, and extreme weather conditions. In a competition where the mind is constantly at play, the challenge is not only physical but also mental and emotional.

Understanding those demanding challenges, Gatorade developed the “3 stages medal”, designed to support the mental journey of “El Cruce”. Instead of being awarded with the medal only at the finish line, it was divided into three parts, with one piece delivered after each completed stage—providing tangible, day-by-day motivation and accompanying runners throughout the entire experience, not just at the final finish. Keeping runners equally hydrated and motivated.
